Snappy, straightforward, and endlessly charming, this game does a lot in its relatively short runtime.

The gameplay itself is rock solid, a natural streamlining of the idea of dungeon crawling that encourages resource management and forethought, while battles gradually increase in complexity and room for self-expression. Gameplay is ever so slightly on the demanding side, so don't be afraid to use the game's assistance tools.

Itch RPGs live and die off their stories and casts, though, and this one heartily delivers. Over a single-digit number of dungeon floors, OFB introduces its main characters, fleshes out the setting, and then tells a charming tale with a great conclusion. Also, I'd be remiss not to mention the hand-drawn art assets (including absolutely adorable sprites), and I'm going to be listening to the final boss music for a long time.

In short, it's good. Play it. It's well worth an afternoon of your time!

Following up this comment to let you know that the streaming has concluded. and unfortunately I forgot to enable the function that saves VODs so I legit can't get the stream to edit and show for you! Sorry! But regardless, all I have to say is that I absolutely LOVE this game and was having the time of my life with it. Love these characters' personalities and their dynamic so much, more people should hear about this project!

Yeah it was honestly so much fun! I was laughing my ass off at some points; it's been YEARS since I last laughed so hard from RPG Dialogue, and it made me so happy that you managed to make me start feeling that level of engagement/happiness with an RPG story lol

This was a good experience and enjoyable game to discover

The battle system is simple and you get the gist of it quickly. 
You have two character one you can attack with and the other to support or use both in attack if they are both healtly (+1 point for skill descriptions with funny notes ^^).  I found the game was easy once you understand which skills  you need to spam and you only need to make sure you get potions to restore you if you failling the traps or failing to fully heal before finishing a battle. I had to reload several times on a particular floor for reasons I won't reveal here.
Although it could be only be me, I had difficulty to get used that Hit/Health point was called SP in this game (SP which is usually either skill or spirit as manna for using tech)


The general plot might be simple for some, but the charms come  from the two main protagonists who are fun to follow and conversations are well made and never felt-forced. The art, cute chibis and several CG make you like the characters even further (Poor Trip who gets teased at every occasion to either Erakhos's amusement or changing the subject). I would welcome the duo back if they re-appears in future game ^^.  I liked there was foreshadowing several points in the lab (or even previous) chapter that would important in later chapters.

The field skill is optional due having limitless HP regen in battle if play correctly. The Scout offers of interesting dialogue that can be missed if you're not using reloading to have a good stock of scout. The minigame button entry came out of nowhere the first time, but I was prepared the rest of them : The fact that mini-game content was randomized each run/reload is a good thing to force me to retry several times before succeeding. The battle with the final boss was great to play (Won't say any spoiler so discover by yourself, people!)


Overall, I had fun playing the whole game in two sessions. I hope you people will give it a proper chance to play it yourself.

This was such a fun game! I really liked the dynamic the two leads had going with each other. The way you highlighted how well they worked together by having segments where either weren't present to show how much they would struggle alone, how they could (and did, for the last area) flex roles with each other, and just in general their banter was so funny to read. Their serious conversations were great to read as well, giving light to their deeper character without going too far into direct exposition - as well as you could for a game of this length, really. Era's character development was tied up so nicely at the end, love that for him :)

The game mechanics were great to tinker around with, though by the third-fourth area I quickly realised that gunning everything down with a crossbow was just the most efficient way of handling... everything, actually. I dunno, I found it fun watching Trip's damage numbers continue to just keep getting higher. Era's an amazing support to whatever the hell Trip wants to go off and do.

I have to say that reading Keiru's name kept making me chuckle because I kept thinking of the CoTO character with a one-letter difference, though. (ha)
